Rum

Abuelo means “grandpa” in spanish. A single estate rum where the sugarcanes, distillation and aging all takes place at the same destillery.

Aged the first 5 years in the Carabean on regular oak casks, and the last 3 years in Spain on Olorosso sherry casks. Lightly dry and with notes of vanilla and sherry.

Aged the first 5 years in the Carabean on oak casks, and the next 3 years in Spain on Olorosso sherry casks and finally 2 years on Pedro Ximènez casks. More sweet with notes of raisin and fig.

The master blender chooses rum of the finest quality from Barbados and Guyana and ages it for 10 years in the Carabean. Finally the rum is aged 5 years on Pedro Ximènez casks.

The same people who do not have access to Cuban rum often say, in a slightly regretting way, that Ron Matusalem is probably as close as they can get to real Cuban rum.

A deep, full-bodied and persistent aroma in the nose of candied fruits, cocoa, coconut, plum and cloves

The palate is initially met with cloves, after which the taste becomes sweeter and fuller and contains flavors of syrup, toffee, raisin, fig, dates, caramel and dark brown sugar. The taste ends with an almost cake-like aftertaste that lingers, but ultimately leaves the palate with a fresh feeling.

A scent of sweetness and tropical fruits hits the nose first, after which a spicier note with tobacco and dried fruits takes over.

The taste is pleasantly sweet to begin with, but notes of caramel, date and fig. Then a note of cloves penetrates the tongue to become delicious and sweet again. The rum finishes with a pleasant sweetness of brown sugar, faint spices and oak casks.

Danish rum aged in port casks from Cálem. Has a deep mahogany colour and tasting notes of spice, dark berries and ripe fruits.

Old rum with a fresh and youthfull taste. Notes of dried dades, fig, tobacco and sweet sherry. Taste of chocolate, orangepeel and dried tropic fruits.
